Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced a new hero in Ant-Man (2015) with an exceptional power. An ex-con, Scott Lang is a talented mastermind whose life takes a downward turn; he is attempting to start over again and reconnect with his daughter who is still very young. However, when Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man recruits him for another crime career, he finds it hard to move on.

Hank explains that what he has made is a suit which can reduce its wearer’s size to an ant while increasing their strength by manifold. Meanwhile, Darren Cross had almost realized similar technology which was however meant for bad purposes; thus Hank required someone with Scott’s caliber of expertise to carry out a robbery that could salvage humanity.

With much hesitation and reluctance Scott assumes the character of the new Ant Man and has to go through an intensive training process and learn how to manipulate the costume’s ability. In addition, Scott must get into Cross’ highly secured complex with the help of Hope van Dyne-Hank’s daughter as well as other unlikely comrades so that he can steal yellowjacket (a weaponized version of this shrinking technology).

Scott embraces his new role as a hero, and takes on Cross in a battle that ranges from the small scale to the large one; it culminates in a confrontation that challenges Scott’s wit and resolve. Ultimately, he becomes Ant-Man by proving himself and gaining Hank and Hope’s belief in him, thus paving the way for his future exploits in Marvel Universe.
