In Captain America: Civil War (2016), the Avengers are at one another’s throats when they disagree about government control. There is a mission in Lagos, which causes much havoc. The Sokovia Accords are proposed by governments across the globe as their response to this situation. These are rules that will manage activities of superhuman beings. The team splits along factions with Tony Stark as Iron Man on one side supporting the accords for accountability reasons and Steve Rogers as captain America on the other hand arguing against being governed.

The intensity of this disagreement is heightened when Bucky Barnes who was known as Winter Soldier, formerly Cap’s childhood friend, gets framed for a terrorist attack. In his quest to clear Bucky’s name, Steve becomes a traitor turning down the Carta and going into hiding to avoid capture. As things worsen within their ranks, there is immense fracture amongst members leading to confrontation between two separate teams

There are other players also joining this rift such as Batman seeking revenge from his dad’s death and Peter Parker as recruited into by Tony Stark. All these culminate in fierce battle emotions at an airport where friends turn against each other showing how high-priced their conflict actually is.

Finally, Steve learns the sad fate of the incident that tore his team apart. He exposes a scheme masterminded by Helmut Zemo who wants revenge from avengers for killing his family. After such disclosure, however, the breach between Tony and Steve is too profound to be closed leaving them more shattered Avengers whose future becomes uncertain and unknown.
