Captain America: The Winter Soldier follows the troubles of Steve Rogers or Captain America, who finds it difficult to adapt to the modern world after the Battle of New York. At present he is working with Natasha Romanoff and is drawn into a very complicated web of deceit when he realizes that his once trusted organization has been deeply infiltrated.

When another S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is attacked, Steve uncovers a frightful scheme aimed at attacking global security. This plot eventually leads him to confront the mysterious lethal Winter Soldier. He discovers that this assassin, whom he thought was someone else, is actually Bucky Barnes, his best friend from 1940s who was declared dead but was brainwashed and made into a weapon by HYDRA.

While Captain America and Black Widow investigate further into this matter, Sam Wilson (Falcon), a former pararescue soldier joins them. This culminates in their epic battle with Hydra’s infiltration throughout S.H.I.E.L.D., an agency they become enemies with—thus it questions Steve’s beliefs about freedom in an era where trust can hardly be found.

At last, Captain America has to make the choice of either saving his former best friend or preventing global surveillance and control. This is the most important moment in the movie as it will set a stage for additional dramas within Marvel’s Cinematic Universe where Steve would rather continue fighting for what he feels is right, irrespective of how much he pays.
