The fate of the universe in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) relies on a collection of misfits. It begins with Peter Quill, an intergalactic adventurer who was kidnapped from earth as a young boy, now known as Star-Lord, he comes across an enigmatic orb with unimaginable powers. The orb is being sought after by Ronan the Accuser, a powerful and cruel villain who plans to use it for destroying planets.

Having escaped from his captors, Peter soon finds out that he is wanted by bounty hunters and criminals with various designs. On his way through self-imposed exile however ,he reluctantly teams up with a band of ne’er-do-wells: Gamora-a deadly assassin seeking redemption; Drax the Destroyer-an avenger consumed by rage; Rocket-a gun-loving raccoon that has been genetically modified; and Groot-a tree-like creature with limited verbal ability but infinite love.

The group is made up of odd beings who would never get along at first sight but they will come to discover that they have a common goal which forces them to put aside their differences in order to prevent Ronan and save galaxy. As they journey together, however, they develop surprising emotional bonds that make them almost like foster relatives to each other. The Guardians of the Galaxy are taught about bravery and camaraderie as they confront Ronan’s forces against impossible odds.

In an attempt to prevent Ronan from taking the orb (which also contains power) in an action-packed combat, Guardians engage him and his army during the final battle of the play. This resulted in their joint efforts leading to Ronan’s defeat and the rescue of the entire universe thus showing that even eccentric characters can become heroes.
